Refections

One big surprise, no bugs....none, nadda, nowhere

Road construction everywhere. Roads are in great shape ( disclamer, not many roads in Alaska.

Weather....all but one of the days we spent here was warmer than it was in Cedarville.

More RV's on the road than we expected...and we expected alot!

RV travel is comfortable and relaxing.

Much less rain than we expected. Only 2 days had brief showers.

Modest housing, no ornamentation, no frills.

Central Alaska ( where we traveled) has basically only one highway with only a few paved roads leading off from it. All the way from Seward to Fairbanks. We actually to the western most road end in Alaska. Anchor Point is the most westernly point in the US Highway system.

Not including Anchorage, we passed only 5 grocery stores in our travels. (that is those that obviously looked liked grocery stores)

Experienced our 1st earthquake while camped at Portage Glacier! Looks like it was a 5.8 with the epicenter 103 km west of Willow, Alaska. We were sitting outside in our camp chairs when all of a sudden we started swaying. We looked at each other and realized what was happening. Fortunately this was not a strong one and not scary at all. Was another one of things that we can check off....earthquake!

We think we would have missed out one some magnificent scenery if we had taken a cruise instead of RVing

Turning in the RV tomorrow then homeward bound on Friday.
Thanks for following our adventure.
